What is Kindle Cloud Reader? It is a web app that allows you to read your Kindle books instantly. Well, greed and control by Apple's Steve Jobs caused Jeff Bezos and many other app publishers to stay away from Apple. After all, despite all the money the company has made from the sales of its evermore popular gadgets, it wants to squeeze the app publishers and anybody selling their items, ebooks, and other merchandise through its app. Apple levied new fees, charges to the app publishers. Many of them have decided to leave Apple because the company has made it difficult for them to make some profits. Apple wants 30% of the profits from content sold via these applications. Knowing the volume of business that Amazon Kindle brought to the company, Jeff Bezos decided it was time to leave Apple alone in its greed.
Amazon and Kindle engineers have decided to go back to drawing board. Based on internal information, they realize that the web represents a huge market which most consumers still go to. Having done so, they have launched the web-based version of their popular Kindle e-reader.
With the launching of the web-based Kindle reader, users can save their books for offline access and sync between the reader's other products.
Hats off to Jeff Bezos for taking us, consumers, away from the control and apparent monopoly of Apple iBooks!
